A metal relay holds a light bulb in suspension: Clip, the lamp that represents one of Officinanove’s new 2019 proposals.
Mimicking the shape of a paperweight and playing with the concept of paper itself, Clip looks like a folded sheet in which it floats a soft light as the ideas that are born in the depths of our imagination and then come to life, vivid, light up in the heart of our thoughts.
The light bulb, supplied by the company, in fact consists of a spherical bulb with carbon filaments able to illuminate in a suffused way, thus returning to the environment a warm and discreet brightness. In black powder paint with hammered effect, the laser-cut steel sheet that supports the luminous globe was designed by the architect and designer Antonio Norero, Art Director of Officinanove, as a tribute to the world of origami, the art of folding paper giving it always new shapes and at the same time as the game of a child who, confronted with the fragility and ductility of this material, comes into contact with his imaginative capacity.
Seeing beyond the material to let something new come to light: Clip marks a return to the essentiality of the Italian design of the origins that made the an ironic and playful aspect of simplicity and minimal beauty an art form of everyday life.
